Sturgeon Grow-Out
As in intensive trout production, more and more use is being made of extruded feeds in sturgeon production. Because sturgeons are relatively slow feeders, water-stable extruded pellets also give a great advantage here. Extrusion cooking avoids the risk of food spoilage, due to partially pellet disintegration, resulting in poor water quality.
The inclusion of spray dried haemoglobin powder enhances the amount of animal proteins readily available for the fish and helps binding the trouts faeces, hence helping to maintain a good water quality.
Just like the Sturgeon Juvenile, the Sturgeon Grow-Out is being used with success in several Sturgeon Farms. After extensive research and trials, we found that this high energetic feed does not give rise to digestion problems in larger sturgeons. On the contrary: good growth whilst maintaining a good egg-quality is observed.
