Milling the Raw Materials

The raw materials, which have been mixed in the previous process, are now being grinded to make the flour as fine as possible. The result is a product suited for making a bead which has a maximum stability and which is excellent to digest.hamermolen

The hammer mill, seen on this picture, is a pulverizing grinder. It smashes and pulverizes the product by means of a set of metal stakes, also referred to as “hammers”, which rotate at high speed around an axis.

A sieve is placed around the set of rotating hammers which only allows small enough particles to pass. The holes in the sieve determine the thickness of the end product. The grinded, fine flour is then taken by mens of a pneumatic transport to the second mixing where sensible additives like pigments can be added.
